Whois service unavailable from the UK

I am having problems with the whois service with unavailable please try later messages from a UK location.

Is anyone else seeing this?

Working fine for me ( [whois.co.uk...] )

Seen it for over 2 weeks now, also UK based.
(it's not .co.uk domains, i have problems with .com, .net etc.)

Yes I have no problems on .uk domains just .com/net/org domains

<edit> scratch that was working just stopped i'm seeing .com registrants are all servicee providers like godaddy, networksolutions, etc </edit>

I'm not seeing the problem here (in UK) so it must be intermittant.
