When are the new TLD's being released?

Just heard all the news about the new TLD's that will be released. Does anyone know when they'll start selling them to the public? Is it going to be a free for all mass sale? Or is there going to be some kind of draw for the hottest domain names?

AFAIK, they will be sold through existing approved registrars. I expect them to ramp the price back up to $30-40 per domain (US) though. I don't believe they have said when they will be going on sale. It is suppose to be setup and running by mid 2001.
