Can I link my site to more than one domain safely?

Linking multiple domain names to a site without SE penalties

I have just obtained the .com version of my domain name. I'm intending to create a new site next year for this but in the meantime I was thinking of forwarding it to my existing site which I have the .co.uk domain for.

Since reading this forum I'm concerned that I might get penalised by the search engines for spamming them. I not intending to submit .com to any search engines but I guess someone could link and Google et al could find it that way. Is there a totally secure way to do this without risk?

Thanks.

Point it - but don't submit it to webcrawlers or search directories and you should be fine.

There is no penalty for driving in type-in traffic!

Set up a 301 redirect on the "other" domain. That will tell the engines you have moved your site permanently and should stop any possibility of penalty.
