On the surface I agree; but, there are serious issues involved. If Verio's had a back agreement with Register.com and broke it, that could spell trouble for Verio. If not, it might be a good test of usage agreements. Register.com's usage agreement is pretty explicit about it, and since there is money trading hands, that is a contract and it sounds like Verio broke that contract.
I have about 50 domains, the junk snail mail I get is horrific. Thankfully, most of the email spams have stopped, though the offshore spams do seem to be picking up.

I'll deal with the Junk, it is the &^%$ phone calls at all hours by some computer checking to see if anyone answers the phone so that they can call you back a week later at that time (tod sweepers).

I use Bulkregister with Alabanza and so far they have kept everything very private. They are the best as far as I'm concerned but you have to apply with a $70 fee. Also they are set up for purchasing domains in bulk. One big benefit though; quickness in administrating changes to your domains. I've heard horror stories about registrars. Seems they are true.
