CC registration

I could be wrong, but I thought that eNic had a monopoly on .CC , but now I see them offered by NameZero at 1/3 of the price at [namezero.com...] .

There has been some bad press about NameZero before, so are they scamming?

I was under the impression that NameZero is NSI. Verisign is an "Investor" in NameZero and on top of that I think NamesDirect is owned by NameZero, which makes NamesDirect something Verisign owns a piece of. But in the end it all leads back to Verisign.

Verisign has already acquired NameSecure, Registrars.com, and eNic.cc (the .CC people).

So it would not surprise me that you can find Verisign .CC domains for cheap at a company that is partial if not wholly own by Verisign.

I've had some bad dealings with Namezero. What they were doing is giving free domain names, when in fact they were taking them in their own name, and the sites had to be served up inside their frames. It was almost impossible to get out from under it.

One woman had to give up use of her domain name to put a site up, which has been her trademarked business name for 15 years. She's got it now and is using it, after two years.

Their system has changed now, but they got a very bad name for themselves.
