I remember the good old days when you could get into the search engines in a week. And it has come to me that month by month that keyword rich domain names are the route to all that is good.

Of course you have to do a lot of hard work behind the scenes themes, linkage etc etc but the main thing like IMO that outweighs most of that is a keyword rich domain name.

It seems that I spend more time seeking relevent domain names that will "rocket" my site into the top 10 that actual optimisation.

How long do you guys search for a keword rich domain name/s on average ?

yep, just had a clients site picked up in the update no real links to speak off but 2 word keyword search puts his site 3rd out of 65,000 :)

Yep, sign me up for that petition. Ridiculously long, overly hyphenated keyword stuffed domain names seem to be ruling the roost in my neck of the woods also.
Sour grapes aside, these sites just don't cut it. They tend to be the use once and throw away variety, doorways at best, junk text and links the norm, that will work for a month or two until they are tripped up and replaced by another subtle-but-equally-worthless-variation-on-a-theme.
Sure, their shelf-life is limited, but the fact that they work is obvious, and there'll be another one waiting in the wings when the last one drops. The virtues of remaining pure are looking less and less appealing - I hate the idea of 'if you can't beat 'em join 'em', but unless there is an algo tweak to downplay this most obvious of tricks, then paint me a bad guy pretty soon now.
Cheers, Mat

I do go for keyword rich domain names but only for maximum of 2 words e.g

web-design.com etc etc you get it

Im-strongly-against-these-kind.though.com
