I'm hoping to reregister 2 domains that expired in June 1 2001 with Netsol, both are simple domains -not hot. I know it usually is 3 months - but will Lisa know for sure if it could be any faster -coz I want to change the registrant ?

You could be waiting a long time. They are going to hold them for you for 90 days. Then after that it goes into limbo. I have seen domain names stay in limbo for years at netsol. If you are Job then wait. If you can't, register for a year and transfer.

I have tried to get netsol to drop names and it takes atleast 2 weeks for them to intiate a purge. They won't even talk to about it for 90 days. In your case they may not be willing to help you since you want to move the names.

Well, I notice NetSol dropping/losing 50,000 a week now. At that rate they will not have any domains left pretty soon. :)

But like korkus2000 said, wait your 90 days (should be less then 150 typically). Then pray hard no one wants them. You better be really sure no one wants them! If just one person may find them useful you better play it safe and renew them and then move them. I have heard it a thousand times by now. People saying, "I was going to let my domains expire so I could sign up for them later at a new registrar." Unfortunately the domain(s) were grabbed by someone else and now they are gone forever. Don't let this happen to you. My fair warning to all.

What might be some reasons to change your registrar anybody? For the un-trained ear of course;)

Main reasons to drop netsol - cheaper and more customer friendly.
