I basicly write websites, and have not gotten into helping clients with domain names as yet. I have a request to help a client get thier domain name registered. My question is two fold. First, is $35.00 the standard for registration, (X2 ofcourse for the two year minimum), and if so, how can companies that I see advertised offer domain names for $37.00 for two years (thus $18.50 per year). I want my client to get the best deal, and not be taken of course. I have told the client we would go straight to VeriSign, (Net Soulitions), and get the name without the middle men. But they feel we can get a better deal. I don't think so. These companies usually own the name, and try to sell hosting, forwarding or someother service that will bring up the cost, and the client is still liable for the Network Solutions cost. Am I correct? If there is truly a discounted way to legally own the name, please wise me up. Thanks so much
