I've been trying to use name winner for over a month now and I've had top bids on over 100 domains and i have yet to aquire a single on...is this normal? Any one know anything about this? I know there are scripts and other companies that do this but having trouble finding anything reasonable.

There was a tool mentioned here before...check out deleteddomains.com (if you haven't already) good way to search with lots of options for expired domains.
(no affiliation with the aforementioned site).

I agree with Jeremy, I check deleteddomains every day for new "on hold" domains and "deleted domains.
However, don't trust it when it says that the domain is "on hold". I usually go try to register it anyways, and once in a while I can still register it.
If I can't, I usually use snapnames to reserve it.
