multiple domains - sites - same content

I have recently seen a group of domain names, hyphenated + non hyphenated + .com +.co uk + .net with each appearing to resolve to the same server (does not appear to be redirecting or webforwarding)

eg: somedomain.com / somedomain.co.uk / some-domain.com / some-domain.co.uk

resolving to
www.somedomain.com/welcome/
www.somedomain.co.uk/welcome/
www.somedomain.net/welcome/

etc.......

With the site content being an exact copy.

Is this good / bad or very bad?

I suspect this will help people who may mistype the domain but would'nt webforwarding be just as good + safer regarding SE (spamming)

IMO very bad

I treat re-directs like road signs. Your instance is like pointing to the same "town" by going down three or four different roads

IMO search engines dont like this, the only reason for you to do so (if you created this from scratch) is to artifically gain ranking and recognition :)

No this is not my work. In this situation I would prefer to use the .co.uk / .net / hyphenated variants of the prime domain www.somedomain.com as webforwarding to a single site, because of the concern of multiple sites / exact same content.

ahhh sorry I think im on your wavelength now. All your domains point to the same site/server

Im guessing that as long as you submit one, and only one domain is promoted it should be ok otherwise but im sure someone else in here has more experience on this matter :)
