As a matter of interest have you seen any of the newish TLDs ranking well on a global level up against com/net/org?

I'm sure there must be one or two however I don't think I have seen one.

Have seen a few new gTLD domain names being used for websites but in terms of visibility, .COM wins. A few .BRAND new gTLDs have been used quite successfully but many of the new gTLDs are struggling with low registration volume and low development rates. A few of the geo gTLDs are doing well but a few have been disasters. There's a kind of balkanisation effect with some of the larger new gTLDs in that they have become a cheaper alternative to .COM for some countries.

Hello,

I don't search a lot of things online, but, I have never seen anything else than common TLD (.com/.net/.org and countrie TLD).

In the past, I saw some .info and .biz, but it's been years since I didn't see them.

So, as for more recent TLD, I never saw any (yet).

Oddly, the low price of .XYZ registrations (apart from the heavy discounts) is helping with development in the gTLD. The some of the others (.ONLINE, .SITE) also are attracting registrations. The renewal rates (%s) are not as bad as some other gTLDs though they are nowhere near those of .COM (56% or so on first year renewals) or ccTLDs (typically over 70% on first year renewals).

As the web saturates, so will the gTLDs ... time will reveal which will rise to true "global" recognition. I suspect I will be worm meat for 20 years or more before some gTLD rises to the level of com/net/org!

If .WEB manages to launch, then it might overtake .NET or .ORG on brand protection registrations alone. That's probably what Verisign is hoping for at the moment. There is a visible shift to ccTLDs and the Covid pandemic has seen some of the ccTLDs getting almost twice their typical monthly new registrations.

I have sites with gtlds on first page for chosen keywords.
