Funny how things work out sometimes.

I used to joke about tying up retirement income in domain investments.

Of late I've been thinking it may just work out that way.

The question is do I blow it all having fun (in retirement) or do I leave something "for the kids".

LAST WILL & TESTAMENT OF WEBWORK

Paragraph 7(A) - To my son . . I leave .....Com and ......Org.

Paragraph 7(B) - To my daughter . . I leave . .

Paragraph 8 - To my favorite charity I leave . . .

Who knows?

Funny how things sometimes work out . . or don't. :-/

My opinion: don't hesitate to sell some of your domains if sufficiently attractive offers come along.

Then make wise investments with the proceeds.

Save some, spend some, give some.

Note that I say "give", not "bequeath". I'm a firm believer in making gifts as we go along, rather than hanging on to everything until we die.

Besides, it saves inheritance taxes ;)

Are any of the kids domainers in their own right? If not, leaving them the domain names is about as pointless as leaving a family farm or business to an offspring who has never been interested in its operation. If all they're going to do in the end is sell it, why not do it yourself and make your own decisions what to do with the money.

I have a daughter "in the business" (digital marketing).

My son? Eh . . he'd probably flip them from the git-go and buy a new guitar, sax, . . . maybe. One never knows for certain.

Save. Spend. Give. Yep.
