Mike Berkens of TheDomains.com is reporting an $8.8 million all cash domain sale by "The Domain King".

I suspect the promise of virtual reality gave rise to this purchase.

No doubt VR will like give rise to many things.

Sad but true: my first thought was piano dot org (which, amusingly, is currently for sale). Possibly I am in the wrong business :(
