Hello Techarena. Welcome to WebmasterWorld.

Most domain registrars are 95% "the same", offering a variety of gTLDs, fixed prices, a GUI for managing your domains.

Perhaps the most important distinction is CUSTOMER SERVICE. There was a time when one registrar was reknowned for its service. That's no longer the case.

Are you planning to register 1 domain, dozens or hundreds of domains?

Are you saying that as of today you have NEVER registered a domain?

Before going further I would suggest sitting down with a friend who will share the experience of their domain registrar's user interface. At the same time I suggest you read that registrar's FAQ page - to become familiar with terms, issues, etc.

Price is only 1 variable or concern. Domains are a commondity so many offer domains at about the same price. The real distinguishing feature - the one that impresses me - is can you get someone on the phone to answer a question promptly and intelligently. If not, can you get such a "personalized response" (not a "canned answer") via email or a registrar's online support system.

Also, how easy is it to use their domain management interface?

For a few domains price should NOT be the main concern. Custom support and a clean, easy to user interface IS.

Lastly, does the registrar have a longstanding history AND does the same registrar have repeated reports of security problems?
