[edit reason] Please use "example.com" and avoid mentioning specific domains. [/edit]

If a domain name is dropped/deleted and then reregistered, the domain name has its registration date set to the date it was reregistered. The previous registration date no longer matters as the domain was dropped.

What jmccormac said.

Also, if the domain had authoritative contacts in the past (you can check that via Archive.org) and your new site is in the same niche, you can get in touch and see if you can build connections.

You cannot add domain history back once it has expired. The best you can do is use it in a site with decent content and it might get some of the old PageRank back.
The Wayback Machine can be handy in reclaiming some of the old glory *but i guess you already know that seeing as you know precise dates*
