new UK domain name

A new UK domain name has now been introduced aimed primarily at individuals:
(from the nominet web site www.nic.uk)

'The me.uk Second Level Domain is being introduced on January 14 2002. It is the first new SLD to be introduced since Nominet started operating the .uk Registry in 1996...

The me.uk Second Level Domain is intended for personal use. Domain Name registrations made under .uk are expected to be made for natural persons, such as Mr John Doe registering johndoe.me.uk.

Registrations will be made on a first-come, first served basis in accordance with the Rules for me.uk.'

If this does catch on does anyone know what the seach engine implcations for such a domain may be?

(sorry if this has been posted before but I searched the forums for .me.uk and it came back telling me that the words 'me' and 'uk' had been ignored..)

They should index it just like any other domain. I don't see a problem with it at all. They may choose not to index the domain though since it is personal. They may view it as lower quality.

I recently registered submit.me.uk for a search engine submission service that I run and it is now ranked very well on several major engines.

I don't think SEs care what address you use. As long as they can reach it. The only bonus I know of it .GOV and .EDU. If you have one of those you are taken more seriouly by some search engines.

Nice ring to the submit for me.uk domain name maybe ill do something like submitwith.us for the us ;) or something crazy like that.
