Has anyone had any luck beating snapnames? If they are set up to just fire off a bunch of registration requests right after the names are dropped every day, then given the quantity of domains they deal with, wouldn't this give a smaller player a chance?
I'm looking at NameWinner, a service by dotster:
[namewinner.com...]
It looks like they might be a competitor, but I don't know who would win in a competition.
Has anyone tried writing their own registration script to grab these things?
'Domain not found locally, but Registry points back to local DB...' - Now pointing back at Network Solutions. Does this mean I could get it in five days?
Hunter, I checked it manually 2 or 3 times during this period. The automated email came in last night at 11:42 CST. I was fast asleep.
This is the first time I've tried the service. For 50 bucks, I think it's a pretty good deal. (Well, Yeah, I did get the domaian!) You can switch the domain during the year's period, and probably have it check 4 domains that are expiring, until you get one or you lose the money. Pretty cheap. Couldn't hire anyone to do it.
I do have the name back ordered through Snap Names, but just wondered what my chances are of successfully registering it. Any input would be helpful.
I am bighting my fingernails on one domain and need to know whether it will get to the surgery point of not. :)
