I did a transfer of a domain that was completed about a week ago. I got another notice from the old register of another domnain I own coming up for renewel. I sign in and am suprised to the the domain I just did the transfer still in the old register.

I check whois and it shows the new register I check and get see the email the transfer has been completed, so my question is what do I do.
1-Contact the old register and ask why they continue to list my domain name in the account after it has been moved in the hopes of getting 11 bucks for a domain I have already renewed elsewere.
2-Contact the new register
3-Forget it and move on.

Thanks for any assistance as this has never happened before so I am just wondering.

I had this happen once. The previous registrar even sent me billing notices for renewing the domain which wasn't under their control anymore. Eventually the domain dropped from their database.

Option 3: forget it and move on worked for me. As long as you are paying the registrar which is listed in the whois data, your domain shouldn't be in danger.

lammert this is what I was going to do but now I get another email from the old register and check the whois again and see it has reverted back to the old register. I have no idea why so I sent a support request to the new register trying to get an answer. I never have liked the old register. Purchased the domains through an auction and this is were they were registered so I wait till renewal time the move them over. Not the first time I have had a problem getting one out of this register.

Hi, bwnbwn, I guess 'register' you mentioned in your post is actually 'registrar', right?
Although I have never come with such matter like this, let's do some assumption,
#1. time consuming and troublesome, even worse, you won't gain anything from it.
#2. it is probable that the new registrar will only ask you to keep an eye on the real whois data and see how it goes.
#3. Refer to #2, maybe this is your best choice.
Hope this can do something for you, and good luck, friend.
