help pls! Network Solutions does not send renewal to registry

I had a .co.uk domain renew from Network Solutions for 4 years until to 21-06-2014. But the Nominet.co.uk email to me warning the domain has reached its expiry date and has notyet been renewed.

The Network Solutions explain it :"Our system does not send the renewal to the registry until day 15 of the following expiration month."

I want to know, Is it normal? Weather the Network Solutions really renew the .uk domain so delay, can NSI forgot to renew it?

What right has the NSI treat to me like that?[

It's normal and there is a grace period in place by law. Normally emails aren't sent out so quickly. If they forget to renew the domain name but you paid for it until 2014 you have a case for a lawsuit and Network Solutions values their accreditation so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Make sure you follow up on it before the grace period ends, I don't know off hand how long that is in the U.K. but it's worth looking up.

I always use a UK registrar for my .co.uk names since there seems to be a faster relationship however I have seen this before and it may just be Nominet updating their database information.

If a renewal request is not received from your registrar, we will send you a renewal reminder by email. You will have 30 days to arrange for your registrar to renew the domain name. If we do not receive a renewal request for your domain name within 30 days of the expiry date, the domain name will be suspended. It will then be cancelled 60 days after suspension if we have still not recieved a renewal instruction for your domain name from your registrar.

I'm just very surprised that Network Solutions put the domain name to dangerous situation only for a little financial benefit.

Initially, Network Solutions were reluctant to say no renew, Just to say the Nominet.co.uk do not update the whois.

Hope the domain is safe, and I will transfer it to another after renew.
