Hello friends,

I'm a newbie here & this is my first post..

Well, I bought a few ".info" domains and tried to park them on parked.com..They refused to approve them by saying that the domains must be 6 months old.

Is that true? I suspect that they refused them coz, they're all .info domains..

I now parked them with Adsense for domains but the results are totally disappointing.

1.Can you suggest me a site that accepts ".info" domains for parking, is Sedo.com a good alternative?
2.Is Godaddy cash parking good?
3.Is the visibility for .info is poor?
4.Can I have a successful campaign if I develop them and submit them to Adsense for content.
5.Do you warn me from buying .info sites in the future?

I'm a kinda confused and disappointed. I would greatly appreciate any advice..

Kind Regards

Hello gravity09. Welcome to WebmasterWorld.

"saying that the domains must be 6 months old" -> If you don't trust them . . then what?

Domain parking is about type-in traffic. Type-in traffic to .info domains is close to nil, so any amount of type-in traffic greater than nil (0) is instantly suspect.

If you're investing in .info domains, thinking they'll generate parking revenue to compensate for the cost, there's a good chance you will lose money.

A developed .info site that is receiving inbound links and traffic from search engines is far more likely to "make coin". The question is whether you could make more money - on a "per hour invested" basis - working for a brick and mortar store at minimum wage. Website development is not a guarantee of greater income than you could make working for a minimum wage job.

I'll echo Webwork and just add that simply by buying any domain name, even .com, has no guarantee of type-in traffic unless it is something amazing, essentially there is no free pot of gold with parked domain names!

4.Can I have a successful campaign if I develop them and submit them to Adsense for content.

For a regular AdSense account one supposedly has to have some content however we all know about the MFA sites.

If you have the time and if your domain names are reasonably good names then the easiest way to try and monetise them with AdSense is by good quality blogging, however make sure you understand how blogs work and make sure you get a good free template theme that has search engine friendly URLs etc.

Great inputs! Thank you very much, both webwork & huskypup..

Well, my naivety is obvious. I bought the domains a good 15 days back with the only aim to park them (huh, without knowing the parking dynamics). I'm such a noob that, I didn't even know about type-in traffic before I bought these domains.

I did choose good & intuitive names for the domains but I'll have to invest a huge time which I may not. Even If I write compelling content, I risk losing a good chunk of traffic to the respective ".coms" (or is it? your comments again are greatly appreciated)..

I would now allow them to die(no big pain)..

Also..

Would you mind elaborating on this point..

Thanks again.
