There is a domain 'widgettool.com' registered some years ago. It's parked and not used by owner.
How dangerous is to register 'widgetstool.com' and develop website at those domain? Is it possible that owners of 'widgettool.com' will be able to take away 'widgetstool.com' after I spend time and money to it's development?

I highly doubt it is a Trademarked name and see no problem in registering the name.
Just to be safe check to see if the name is Trademarked if not go for it.

Have you tried making an offer for it? If you might ever want that domain the future, the time to buy it is now, when it has presumably minimal value.

Don't wait until your similar site is successful, as it will make the singular domain more valuable.

You may not be able to get it now, but worth a try, and that would get rid of any possible trademark worry.
