Zappo's acquired Clothes.com in 2008. The transaction is becoming public knowledge now due SEC disclosure requirements that attach to Amazon.com's recent acquisition of Zappos for $928 million. As a publicly traded company Amazon is subject to certain disclosure requirements, which includes disclosing the cost of Clothes.com as the domain is a significant "asset", subject to depreciation/loss/loss of value, etc.
So, when you're a company worth $928 million . . due to your ability to sell shoes . . what's an extra $4 million for the possibility of doing the same under the Clothes.com brand?
Credit to George K. for ferreting out this bit of info.

But then I like generics ..have few very nice health ones in more than one language ..like you frequently say ..lots of low hanging fruit ..people just need to think a little harder and a little lateraly to get strong names .
