I owns a website on which I have spent lot of time and I am worried what will happen if in case someone hack my godaddy account and steal the domain ? or if I lose my laptop and the other person steals my info ?

is there any provision of digital signatures or locking ? how do big companies make sure they don't lose their domain ?

Some registrars offer additional security that will prevent the more basic forms of domain theft. They will setup additional documentation challenges in the event of a domain transfer request, so a mere password/e-mail will not suffice.

iCyborg, this is the type of question that should be answered directly by "the registrar" since each domain registrar will have specific offers, prices, etc.

We ALSO wish to avoid any form of "promoting the benefits" of one registrar versus another, so I've removed that reference. Check their website or submit a request for info via their help system. If they don't answer or it's not obvious that they offer the service shame of them.
