How many of these will you be buying? Me - none. I've only bought 1 non standard (.com, .org, .net are my standards) domain name, and that was simply a keyword-keyword.country deal, not for anything but rankings.

I'm so glad this finally came through. This should free up hundreds of thousands of domains currently used by those pesty museum's.

The .museum TLD, IMNSHO, was a real stinker of an idea...

.mivox domains are going to be available

LOL! Oh great... then, instead of being able to set up cheap or free subdomains, I'll have to buy whole new domain names to subdivide my site. :(

It sometimes stinks being the center of the universe.... maybe I should go into hiding and open up a museum or two instead.

Out of curiousity I did this:

[google.com...]

By no means comprehensive but still an eyeopener. A lot of them.

I say a must is .xxx for adult sites, that way they can be easily blocked by schools etc. When it comes down to it, .org is organization .com is commercial and .net is network, so make .xxx adult and start enforcing some of those rules. ((plus it would be good for the adult market))

Its a bit depressing seeing whats going on with domains.

The real depressing thing would be if these things actually caught on. Everybody wants a .com primarily. Even museums. I mean, its going to be awhile before people understand that [smithsonian.museum...] is actually a valid url. [smithsonian.com...] (or .org) is much clearer.

I think this is a step in the right direction though. Imagine the landscape 20 years from now if we don't start to categorize things on the web now.

Eliteweb I *so* agree with this...my real name is registered and used by an amateur porn 'star'.

Makes life very uncomfortable when my business is online too :(
