Trying to access an old email address

I hope I have put this question in the right category and apologize if I've done so.

I cannot log into my Yahoo account with the password I'd used for the past eight years. It just won't accept it. Fortunately, my Geocities site is still up, but since I created the account in 2001, I have long forgotten the password question.

One email I had listed was an email client: EXAMPLE.com and I would be able to reset my password by accessing this email address. I have sent test emails to my EXAMPLE.com client and they haven't bounced, which tells me the account is still active.

However, I have been unable to find that domain name. I have tried all manner of queries but to no avail.

Is it possible to access this account and thus, be able to reset my password. I have no idea why my password isn't working.

Thanks for reading all this.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld lonelyheroine.

This really sounds like something you should take up with Yahoo's customer service.

If you need find information about a specific domain do a WhoIs lookup.

Thanks for your speedy reply. This is a very interesting forum.

Actually, I did email Yahoo. They told me that they would reply to my query within 24 hours. I would imagine that since I contacted them on Sunday, I'd likely have to wait a bit longer than that.

I may end up having to call them, as I had another issue some years back and email responses weren't clear enough or valuable.

I'll let you know when I hear from them. I really like this site.
