I'm trying to develope a new domain for business: widget

I live in italy and my users will be italian.

what do you think about these domains:

italiaandwidget.org (or com)
widgetinitalia.org (or com)
lowcost-widget-italia.org (or com)
..
...

I'm also trying to figure out if hypned domains are penalized...

Best regards for help.

I would try for 'widgetitalia' first.
Hyphens aren't penalized that I know of, but why take a chance?
Think of type-in traffic. Some people can't even FIND the hyphen, let alone name it. -Larry

I would try for 'widgetitalia' first.

:-) It is already registered.

Do you think that something like:

- italiaforwidget.org

?

will google read ITALIA?

I presume you tried 'italiawidget.com' and the like.

Since italia is in the domain name, I presume G will see it.
I don't think there is any need to put in a hyphen (-) just to set italia apart.
Whatever benefits come from say 'widgetnevada' will be there with or without the hyphen.
Google can surely parse out 'nevada', and of course 'italia' will be in your text etc.

'Widgetforitalia' implies that your Italian clients will understand 'for', which is an English word.
I presume you mean the Italian equivalent of 'for'.

How about widgetdiitalia, or widgetditalia? (di as in 'from' or 'of') -Larry

If your users will be Italian, then go for .it, not .com or .org

However, you'd be wise to buy .com and have it forwarded to your site.

There is a tiny advantage in italia-widgets.it - if your site's url gets listed, then it can be part of the spidering process. italiawidgets.it fails that test, as no customer in the history of time searched for italiawidgets. That's what webmasters do, not customers!

There is a tiny disadvantage in italia-widgets.it - hyphens are still distinctly uncool among some folk. Whether it's uncool among customers, has never been investigated.

There is a HUGE disadvantage in italia-widgets-now.it, however - more than one hyphen is the international shorthand for "Idiot Webmaster", and more than two hyphens is the galaxy-wide shorthand for "I'd be a spammer if only I knew how"

Yes, I am joking ... but only just ;)

I agree with what Quadrille said.
