I have recieved an email (flagged as spam) from a .hk domain. They claim to be a registrar for .hk and .cn domains It is a rather lengthy email in broken, but readable English. The relevant part reads

"On Mar 10,2009, we received an application formally. One company named <snip> wanted to applied for the Internet trademark <snip> and some domain names through our body."

They go on to ask if our company "consigned <snip>" to register the domain, or if we even know <snip>, and are asking for a response via tele or email.

No overt pitch for services. The domain resolves to what looks like a real .cn registrar.

Anybody seen one of these? Legit or spam? Inquiring minds want to know. (FWIW, I doubt we would register the .cn or .hk anyway, even if we were eligible.)
