When I came on board with our company 5 years ago over SEO we began starting up websites in different verticles. Our CEO just made a sale on one (high 6 figure amount). I am pround yet sad at the same time as I worked very very hard on this site but then again he asked me my opinion and I said you build a business to sell.

Now it is time again to begin working on yet a couple new sites with a much challenging agenda and development as well as maintaining the large number we work and own now.

I now have a good idea what is required in selling a top domain and can use the new knowledge in future sales we will be making as the buyer is really keen on our development and wants to look at other sites we own.

One thing I feel that really stands out is that we were honest during the process and didn't try any inflated traffic tricks throughout this process that lasted almost a year.

Hats off to this forum as I have taken a great deal of the information provided here and put into action and feel this is a big reason we have continued to grow and develop. I am a favored person and don't take any credit for our success.

Final note we are not a company that builds websites to sell as our primary income this just happened and one that I feel is good for our company and future business in the world of internet development.

Dang that's nice news! Congratulations!

And kudos to you, too. I have always appreciated the intelligence and balance that you have brought and contributed to the dialogue here at WebmasterWorld. I'm sure you brought the same to your work for the company.

Onward and upward bwnbwn. "To infinity and beyond!" :)

Good for you. It's funny that you mention honesty as something that "stands out" rather than the norm. Not saying you aren't the norm, or that honesty isn't the norm, per se, but it certainly seems otherwise at times. Case in point ... Fraudulently Pumping Up of Domain Traffic to Aid "Traffic Domain" Sales [webmasterworld.com]

Anyway, good on ya for the hard work. Don't forget to celebrate the event!

Being the amount of the sale may be why it went on for a year as at different times through out the year the buyer wanted raw log files to verify by IP address so there is quite a bit of things I had no idea a buyer would request other than the log files that went into their evaluation of the site.

Like I said I am favored and take no credit for this. I do know it came at a time we need some cash influx cuz it is getting rough out here in the open market.

Thanks for the comments guys.
