After hours of googleing I understand that there is a list of country TLD's (ccTLD's) and some General TDL's, and a unnamed category with domains-extensions like:
co.uk org.uk me.uk com.cn org.cn net.cn eu.com jpn.com us.com cn.com de.com hu.com no.com qc.com ru.com sa.com se.com uy.com za.com se.net com.tw org.tw
so there is also ccTLD's with 'co' in front and 'com' and 'net with ccTLD's in front.
Are there more of these patterns?
Where can I find a list of them. I have searched for hours through wiki-pages and dodgy domain-dealers. Also spent hours on the ICANN-site.
Why? because I need to validate entered domain-names. So if a user enters 'somthing.co.uk' it should validate and 'co.uk' should not validate. So I got to know all patterns.
The rules are different for each ccTLD, I'm not aware of a site which lists all possibilities, you may need to compile your own.
been there yesterday, and 10 pages just like it.
thanks for reply.
"The rules are different for each ccTLD"
sure, but where to find those? If I got those I can publish a list.
