Dot UK Registry Launches Resource To Aid Online [vnunet.com]Brand Protection
Dot uk registry Nominet has launched a new web site designed to give businesses and consumers vital advice about how to protect their domain names and mitigate the risks posed by cybersquatters and domain tasters.

The new online resource, which was developed in consultation with .uk registrars, features information about the renewals process, for brand managers and others in charge of domain name management in their organisations.

[keepyour.co.uk...]

I get the impression it's aimed at those with little knowledge of the domain name system.

Accurate fact based public awareness and education campaigns are a vital component of a responsible society, i.e., a society that says "we're all in this together" versus a society that talks about "individual responsibility" but what it really means is "my responsibility ends with me, you're on your own pal". Such an interesting dialogue and fancy me for injecting the thought into this thread. :P

Looks nice but it needs to be heavily promoted to the vast body of non-techie domain owners out there. Considering the target demographic a strong reminder that domain registration isn't the same thing as a hosting contract would be a good idea.
