Hi,

I'm looking to avoid bad surprises. Phone support at a major hosting company just told me there is (with ALL domains and companies) a 60 day period before a new domain can be transfered.

Can someone with experience please verify this?

Thanks

Check out the ICANN Policy on Transfer of Registrations Between Registrars [icann.org]:

... The Registrar of Record may deny a transfer request only in the following specific instances:
...
8. A domain name is in the first 60 days of an initial registration period.

Thank you for the verification. I've been saved from a big mistake.

Do you know if ICANN always charges a fee for change of ownership, or can a domain be sold with no extra fees?

Update: At godaddy (many people seem to trust them now) I was just told I can sell my brand new domain as long as the transfer is to another godaddy customer.

I need to know for certain, anyone have experience with these exact details?

Thanks again

Thanks, I don't like 'fine print', but sometimes I'm willing to 'face it'.
