My question, what would be the best way to use this new example.com site? Redirect seems boring, anything more interesting to be more beneficial?
Changing from the old domain to the new would certainly not be boring; it may be merely difficult, but it could be catastrophic.
If the site has been earning money since 2003, then a boring but effective 301 is almost certainly a better move than catastrophy!
Cool URIs don't change. [w3.org]
Having built up many links and much internet presence with the ___s.com site I was really just wondering if the age of the ___.com site would have any benefits if a micro-site was put up there and then linked to the ___s.com site. A bit of PR and age being directly juiced canīt do any harm?
2002 spam methods won't get you a ban with just one domain, I'm sure; but neither will the 'link juice' from that site do a lot of good. And it's a dangerous habit to get into, and an invitation to rivals to search for other minor indiscretions. They add up.
Dare to be boring. Do the 301 :)
