Isnt ICANN likely to releases domain name extensions that is identical to domain names offered by New.net?

New extensions? Like .mobi? .Pro? .Biz?

Bah.

Or, maybe baaaah-baaaah, sheep to slaughter?

I dunno. I think the newest ICANN "solution" is . . how to put this politely . . oh, shucks, I'll be polite.

The latest ICANN "solution" to the domain namespace is an experiement.

Somewhat reminiscent of the experiments I performed when my parents allowed me to buy a chemistry set that had lots and lots and lots of chemicals in it, which I went on to supplement.

And I was 11 and, at that age, I REALLY liked to blow things up. :P

I can tell you from personal experience that domains purchased from new.net wither and die.

I'll take a shot at the implied question: Has new.net cornered the market by creating their own little version of the internet, and therefore if you have a great new.net domain are you 'entitled' to that version of the domain in any new extension?

I somewhat kinda doubt it, but years of litigation may prove me wrong. :p

Did new.net do these domain completely of their own back them? Is there no official backing at all?
