Transfering domains with mx records

This might sound like a silly question but I assume I can have identical MX records on 2 different domains? if not how does it find the same mail server?

I currently have mail going to and from .co.uk and .com with the .co.uk domain being hosted by a company with no control panel access.

Once I transfer the domain, I would need to continue this, the only reason I asked is because I didn't set any of this up, and just wanted to be sure before anything blew up lol

Should be pretty straight foreword then.
