.museum domains

Anyone know when they'll be fully functional?

I'm missing something here. One of my ODP categories involves museums and so they always interest me. I feel like this discussion is talking in code.

Thanks, now I get it. I haven't seen any of those go through yet. I wonder if these extensions aren't an added burden for the consumer? I get clients all the time asking how many of these they have to buy just to park them so their name is protected.

it's only for fully-fledged museums or foundations and such. From what I understand, in principle a commercial entity or company would not be allowed to register a .museum (but the world is so full of surprises!)
