.pro vs .ws vs hyphenated .com

I own a service business currently. I want to develop a site that has tips for performing this task, tips for starting the same type of business and ebooks I have written. All TLD are taking but .ws and .pro was wondering what you would recommend for the choice.

service.ws is better,but google treats it as country domain.

service.pro is an international domain name, but its very costly and many people dont know about it.

service-service-info.com looks like a spam domain

That's because it IS a country domain.

I was wondering what it was supposed to mean. It certainly isn't obvious. The registry would like you to think of it as "website".

In fact, it stands for "Western Samoa".

Though currently not popular, I'd go with .pro.

Ya. Many registrars are misleading users by stating .ws stands for WebSite.

Nor does .tv stand for "television". It stands for "Tuvalu". (A tiny island in the South Pacific.)

But at least .tv is instantly-recognizable by users as relating to television, even though that's not it's originally-intended purpose.

IMHO the .pro TLD doesn't have a particularly good reputation. They started out with all kinds of good intentions, but somehow all of that's gone out of the window and all the usual high value keywords seem to have found themselves a home in <keyword>.pro.

Between these two options, I would almost definitely go with .pro, although the final decision would depend on factors that are specific to your situation (whether practitioners of the service in question are typically considered professionals, whether you can afford the higher annual cost of the .pro domain).
