Hey All,

I'm looking for success stories, failure stories, or suggestions about the best domain parking services. I have 1000 domains that I used to monetize myself through adsense but don't have the time anymore, who should I park them with?

Hello Brian and welcome to WebmasterWorld. As a new poster now would be a good time to read and familiarize yourself with this forum's Charter [webmasterworld.com].

Once you read the Charter you'll understand that we generally don't permit "voting posts": "Who's the best?" and the like. Such posts beget an "open season mentality" for spamming forums with promotional posts. You'll notice such posts don't last long at WebmasterWorld - they are routinely removed. Instead, we focus on educating members about selection criteria: What options to look for, sensible approaches to issue resolution, etc.

To address your question about "where to park" perhaps the best and most honest advice anyone can give would be to sample the different parking companies. Nothing works better than seeing the variation in numbers/revenue each PPC company generates. A nice thing about domains is how easy it is to move them around, no truck needed. :)

Of course, your domains may not qualify for each company's program, so you need to start the process by applying to each PPC company. Generally the application process is easy: you just provide a list of your domains. If your domain's fit a company's criteria you may find that you qualify for a better revenue share, etc. based upon the quality of their traffic.

My 2cents: Spread your domains around. Observe their performance. Test the different user interfaces. See what can be done to optimize your domains and how long is takes for them to optimize.

The PPC company I utilize allows me - based upon a certain level of trust - to force optimize my domain landers with domain relevant keyword links that (hopefully) draw upon a stream of advertisers for those phrases. I'm a big fan of having the ability to optimize landers. I picked the domains. I know the industries. I have some idea that when someone types in a domain that they might be more likely to click of the keyword links on the lander directly relate to the most frequent search phrases connected to the keywords in a domain.

Bottom line: Don't take our word for who's better. If you have 1000 domains then run them around the circuit. You might discover some domains, in certain categories that attract certain traffic, do better with one company versus another - so you may park certain domains with CompanyA, others with CompanyB, etc.

The besting guidance you can get for your particular domains will be the numbers they generate at each firm.

Moderator's Note: Folks, we are not going to get into the business of voting posts when it comes to where to sell or park a domain.

IF you wish to add to the intelligence of the issue then set forth some manner of factual analysis:

  • Your experience with the user interface and domain/transaction management systems
  • The number of domains you have sold using a system and what, if anything, you can identify that made a difference
  • What there is about the landers that you say works better
  • How your income or sales moved up or down based upon a move, in which case it would be appropriate to state a) the size of your domain portfolio; b) the target market of the domains; c) the time of year of the move (yes, domains are seasonal); etc.

Provide some factual analysis, not just a vote. Provide something that sheds light on exactly what about CompanyA vs. CompanyB makes a difference.

Pure "I made more money" or "use BlahBlah" posts are useless absent a generalized description of the nature of you portfolio and other information.

Posts that say nothing more than "Use BlahBlahBlah" are voting posts and won't last. Sorry, but I know you can do better in helping to educate members.
