Propagation - what if domains don't propagate?

I have a related question under the Technology section of this forum.

But what happens if you change the DNS so the domain is being transferred from one IP to another ... and it never propagates? I think 5 days wait is more than enough time, don't you think?

What could cause the web not to propagate?

What choices do you have?

That would indicate that the DNS records that you edited are not considered to be the "authoritative" DNS servers.

Check the DNS servers declared in the domain registation, and make sure those are the ones where you are editing the DNS records. If they are, then you'll need to contact whoever it is that runs those DNS servers.

Jim,

Yes, we are editing the DNS servers ... but I thought no one had any control over how/when the web propagates ?
