I want to make a site, and i have the perfect domain name. all of my classmates are going to get emails, but after we graduate it's not practical for them to keep that name anymore, as it might not be professional, etc. Is there a way that I can change a domain, like from Kat@originaldomain.com to katrina@newdomain.org and still have all the files from kat@originaldomain.com in the new email?

it's like this, if my classmates have their files or mail, I can register a new domain and create their email addresses again. is there a way I can move the contents of their email folders into the new domain so that they can now use the new email from the new domain without any loss of data or mail?

Yes but you will need to pay for and maintain both old and new domain names.

If the users names are the same kat@old.com to kat@new.org then you can just do a global forward. If the names are different like kat@old.com to katrina@new.org then you will have to map all the email addresses individually.

ok, but can there be a time that I would be able to completely let the old.com expire and let them use the new one?
