ICANN Advisory: Inter-Registrar Transfer Policy Updated

1. Registrars are prohibited from denying a domain name transfer request based on non-payment of fees for pending or future registration periods during the Auto-Renew Grace Period; and

2. A registrant change to Whois information is not a valid basis for denying a transfer request.

It's disappointing to see otherwise respected registrars having to have their hands forced to look after their customers interests.

I wonder when ICANN will get around to whois data mining / selling :)

Today Godaddy rejected 2 of my transfers away because they were within their self-imposed 60-day lock period.

Won't. It's not policeable. Too many domains reg'd.
