I have a number of domains which get some type in traffic - not a huge number but enough to generate some extra income.
At the moment all these domains redirect onto affiliate programs.
However recently I've began to wonder whether I'd make more by just having some targeted ppc ads on them.
Does anyone have experience trying both methods? I'd be interested to find out which generates the most revenue (on average) - ppc links or affiliate redirects.
Thanks
Your question, as it applies to your domains, likely can only be answered by running a parking test for a few months and comparing the revenue.
The outcome will likely reflect the quality and qualities - including the "embedded acquisition intent" and specificity - of your domains.
Try parking the domains and quickly optimizing the landers with related keywords of relevant commercial intent. For example, a City+Hotels.tld domain should be populated with handcrafted links for "City+Hotel+Discounts", "City+Hotel+Packages", "Cheap+City+Hotels". Each domain will have its own galaxy of related keywords with commercial intent.
Some domains have a more informational intent and less "buy now" intent embedded in them, but even informational domains with traffic have companies interested in their traffic - for a lower PPC.
