DotAsia Domains - No information provided to bid in auction

We purchased 20 or so dotasia domains from kore domains in land rush period and sat patiently waiting for the auctions. Most of the domains we purchased had other buyers so they were put on the upcoming auction list at Pool and DotAsia websites. So yesterday the 17th first two domains are scheduled to go to auction and we had still not received any information from Pool, DotAsia about the auction process etc. I found a PDF on DotAsia that clearly states after landrush period the auction participants would be given 10 days notice before the auction process. This PDF file [dotasia.org...] seems to indicate that notice of auction proceedings should be "no less than 10 days ahead of start".

Anway called DotAsia no luck and not one number rang though. Emailed DotAsia repeatedly no answer. the DotAsia website also indicates they will only communicate with registrars. Called Koredomains they said, "er we just sell the domains, contact Dot Asia", finally tried to contact Pool the auctioneer, no answer there and no answer to emails either. Has anyone else experienced the same OR what happened for you if you did get advice, where did it come from, your registrar, Pool or DotAsia. Either way we have missed out on the opportunity at grabbing some nice domain names and so far all we are left with is a bitter taste in the mouth and $1000 of domain application charges.

and $1000 of domain application charges.

Wow, don't you get a refund for failed applications?

Anyway, I'm in a similar position of having applied for names in the landrush of which some have multiple applications. Nothing has been notified to me, I had to find out myself which names had multiple applications...at least they posted that, however nothing else has been said.

Even the names for which I appear to be the sole applicant have not yet been confirmed.

And they expect to go live next week?

I also spent $1000 dollars on applications. I heard that you will get a refund on your domain application charges if you do not get the domains!

I also called .Asia a few minutes ago and here is what I have: (basically nothing!)

I've only just now had a response from Pool about 2 domains which were supposedly auctioned on the 17th March

Pool.com schedules auctions as advised by the registry once they have completed the verification process of applications. In this particular case, applications were received for “#*$!.asia” and "#*$!.asia" during Sunrise 2 by applicants who have claimed a prior trademark right. If the domain is not allocated as a result of sunrise applications, then it will be made available for landrush.

I have to ask myself if they were sold in sunrise then why was I even able to buy them in Landrush? Still no news on any other domains we have purchased either. DotAsia so for from our perspective is an amateur, sloppy mess begging for a class action sooner or later or at the least close scrutiny by ICANN

nevermind - I was told that Pool.com would contact us through the contact information provided to our registrars 10 days prior to auction.

dailypress I have not received anything from Pool other than a reply to a request for support email below. They said go to the registrar for information. Previously the registrar said go to DotAsia for information. DotAsia emails remain unanswered and I've tried about every email address I can find on their website. No one is taking responsibility!

Pool Reply

The registry manages the domain applications and will be able to provide you with information regarding your landrush domain applications.

My Question

03/18/2008 09:14 PM OK thanks #*$!X it would have actually been nice to get some information from DotAsia in this regard - to date I have hit a brick wall, could you shed some light on these other domains bought by us.

Looks like DotAsia has woken up to the issue a little with new note on their home page.
