.mu expired in nov 2007

but still active...

I found a nice domain name (.mu) for a project of mine that's past it expiration date (doesn't smell, though) and I'd like to purchase it... only whois says it's still active:

I've had a similar problem in the past with .info (and maybe .biz) domains ... there was one .info extension that was just plain "stuck" -- over 2 years past the expiration date.

I contacted the Registry, and they were able to "kick it" loose, and I got it. (As an aside, they weren't all that forthcoming with "what they were or were not going to do ... but the end result was that it did drop, and I was able to pick it up.)

You may want to try contacting the Mauritius registry and see what they can tell you. Of course it is possible that the Whois is what's stuck -- and the domain name is still active.
