Hi,

I just started to use Tdnam.com aftermarket and despite reading all the FAQ, I cannot understand who the heck outbids myself in real-time.

I found a domain I kind of want, it showed number of bids - zero, current price $5. Ok, I registered my interest, it momentally says You are outbid. Enter at least $15. Ok, I did that. Bang! You are outbid, enter at least $25 and so on and so on...

Is it some kind of scam? How could it come from no bids and $5 to 4 bids and $35 in less than a minute time? :O

I am completely sure nobody else want this domain name as there is no market value to it... just my personal interest.

Any coments would be apreciated!

"Proxy bidding" allows me to tell the bidding system that I am prepared to spend $#*$! and I authorize my bids to rise to that amount - but only if someone else bids on the domain.

Example: If the minimum bid is $30 and I am prepared to bid up to $100 I tell the system to automatically bid up to $100, in whatever minimum increments the bidding system requires, IF someone else is bidding on the domain. If you bid $40 the system will automatically raise my bid to $45. If you then raise your bid to $60 the system will automatically - as my "proxy" - raise my bid to $65.

EEh! Thank you for your reply. How do I set up Proxy bidding for myself? Do I just enter my desired maximum in the bid field? Probably not, because then everyone would be able to view my bid...

I don't use TDNam, but if it works like every other auction system, there will be instructions that explain how to set your "Max bid", etc.
