What do you guys think of .ASIA TLD

Would you buy great keywords with the extension .ASIA?
for example Chinese.ASIA? How would you compare it with Chinese.com
these are taken already and I just used them as an example.
if you were to set a price for each how would you compare?

I was just looking at the upcoming auctions here:

There are about 100 names listed to be auctioned or in the auction phase up to March 26th.

Considering there have been some 45,697 names with more than one application, a quick calcuation suggests that, at this rate of non-progress, there is maybe another 457 weeks to go...nearly 9 years!

Are they serious?

here's my prediction: (just a guess cause no one has really given a clear answer)
- I think the auction will start next week after open registration; this way people's interest to domains may lead to people bidding higher and .Asia will make the most out of it.

what I'm frustrated about is that they called it pre-registration!

But they're not allowed to bid for the names with more than one application during the Landrush, are they?

Or do you think it's to try and ramp up interest in the "other" names which may be openly available?

Whichever it is I'm not impressed.

I've just received notification of my successful applications, now to wait for what is happening with the auctions.

So 45,697+ auctions over 3 months then?

However they say auctions will start on Monday through Thursday reducing it to only 4 days per week meaning:

April - 18 days
May - 17 days
June - 17 days

Total 52 days for 45,679 names = just over 878 names per day...wow, that'll take some monitoring!

First, let me thank everyone who has contributed to this thread about the launch of the .Asia TLD.

This thread has been active for almost 2 months. The level of community interest appears limited. Those having a special interest in the .Asia TLD now know where to find the latest .Asia news, i.e., at the registry website. Therefore, as in the case of .Mobi, we won't be revisiting launch and launch related events, such as auctions, with any regularity.

Good luck to all speculating . . err, investing . . in the .Asia TLD.
