I recently paid a company <snip> to retrive my domain name and its now 40 days later and i still have no domain and no answer from them about why it isnt working.

They gave me an e-mail address to contact <snip>, they have had 4 e-mails from me and havent responded to any yet.

Now another website has appeared on my domain looking like its been sold to someone else.....what can i do here..? Is there some regulatory body or something i can complain about this to and get my money back..?

Please help..this is driving me nuts..!

Hello schmoo. Welcome to WebmasterWorld.

Sorry to read about your bad experience. Per the WebmasterWorld TOS and Domain Forum Charter we don't allow folks to post "company specifics", so I have removed those facts.

First, did you read the company's TOS? (Don't post them, either. ;0) )

Did they offer a "guarantee"? If not, you may be SOL: sorta outta luck. Most domain "catching" services do NOT offer guarantees of any kind. You must be certain to read their terms of service before payment.

If a fraud of some kind has occurred the first place you might file a complaint is with whatever "consumer protection" or "consumer advocate" program is offered by the State where the company is located. Search State+"Consumer protection" or "Attorney general", etc.

IF you paid by credit card you might also approach your credit card company and ask for a chargeback - if you are certain there has been a breach of agreement.
