Cybersquatters have taken over my domain names

If anyone can help out there, would be appreciated.

A company has purchased all domain names that I would use for my company, and they have registered them all and directed all urls to point to their site.

The names registered include the name of my own company.

When I put that domain name (which is the name of my own company) in a browser window, I get taken to that other company's web site. (we are considered competitors in the same field.)

Is this illegal?

What can I do?

Thanks for any input.

Is your company name a registered trademark?

If so, the fact that it is a domain name that is infringing is irrelevant - the same laws apply. What would you do if somebody opened-up across town with the same name? See an attorney.

There are some non-judicial procedures (ICANN) possible, so see an attorney who deals with domain names.

If it is not a registered trademark, you may still have some rights. Again, see an attorney, as there aren't any here giving out free advice. ;)
