GoDaddy and Nominet saying 2 different things

Hi all...wondering if you could help me here. I admit, I'm a complete novice when it comes to domain names. I registered a domain name in December 2005 for a two year term. A month ago, GoDaddy sent me an email stating that they automatically renewed it (I gave them permission to do so) using my credit card. However, in the past week I've gotten two emails from Nominet saying that I have not yet renewed the domain name and that they will cancel the registration? This is a .co.uk domain, just in case that means anything. So, in the Godaddy Domain control centre they say I'm renewed for this domain until 2009, yet this company called Nominet says it's still not renewed?

One piece of information. A month back I changed my registrant information for the domain because I had moved. Would this have caused some sort of problem? Obviously I do not want to lose this domain. I had thought that maybe this was a Phishing attempt, but I don't think it is. Thanks in advance for your help!

Nominet is the UK domain name authority, so what they say is most likely to be true.

If you do a whois at [nic.uk...] what do you get in the 'Registration status:' field? As this will tell you where in the renewal process the domain is.

Hey thanks guys! I found my answer. Apparently Nominet does a "bulk renewal" on the last day of each month. So, by the 31st of December, my domain should show as "renewed" until 2009 when doing a whois search. Thanks again.

Yes Nominet is the registry for all .uk names. Anyone who sells .uk names has to register them through Nominet, either directly or via a registrar.
