generic phrase TM

oh no! how can generic phrases get a TM?

I just got a couple of domains which are naturally occuring English collocations muscle trainer.

However someone has had the bright idea of making shoes made of lead to help you get fit while walking, and TMd the phrase.

I'm racking my brain to try and think of similar equivilants of TM generic phrases, one I can think of is "I'm lovin it" but my question is how can corporations do this. I thought that generics couldn't be controlled in this kind of way...

I got the domains before I found out about this, and now i'm wondering

a) how its possible to TM a generic phrase

b) will i have to delete the domains to avoid any nasty lawyer type letters.

any advice greatly appreciated.

Apple...shell...tide...all are generic for the fruit, the mollusk, and the waves.
But are they generic for computers, oil products, and detergents?

Or if you want something longer, how about head and shoulders? It's generic
for one who's above the rest, but for shampoo?

Heck, even your username is both a generic word and a trademark. ;)

You don't necessarily have to delete those domain names. Just be careful of
how they're being used...or rather what they're showing.

IANAL, but I learned those from lawyers who eat these things BLD.
