Domain not showing in google uk?

I bought a .net domain name through a leading UK registrar (but under whois it says my site registrar is a US registrar,)

My domain is hosted by a leading US web host.

My domain shows up for Google searches for my keyword, but when the search is restricted to UK pages, my page does not show at all.

I know of other .net domain names in the UK that show up in Google UK-specific searches.

Google must not be recognising my domain as a UK page.

Is this because I am hosted in the US?

Welcome to Webmasterworld.

Yes, Google includes .uk sites and .com/.net sites if they have UK IPs. By hosting with a US hoster you are not regarded as eligible for UK results.
